The marriage of Miss Lisa Elaine Diettel and Mr. Robert Marten French was solemnized Dec. 30 at 7 o'clock in the evening at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Metairie. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Diettel Jr. of Metairie and the bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry French of Livonia, Mich. The Rev. Ralph Schmidt of St. Johns, Mich., officiated at the ceremony, which was followed by a reception at the Landmark Hotel.
The bride, whose mother is the former Miss Joan Sanchez, was graduated from Acadiana High
School in Lafayette and Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, where she received a bachelor of science degree in mathematics. She is employed by Xerox in Southfield, Mich.
She is a granddaughter of Mrs. Otto F. Diettel and the late Mr. Diettel and Mrs. Morris Sanchez
and the late Mr. Sanchez.
The bridegroom, whose mother was before her marriage Miss Gudi Marten, was graduated from Winston Churchill High School in Livonia and the University of Michigan, where he received a bachelor of science degree in industrial engineering. He is employed by Sytec in Southfield, Mich.
He is a grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Ernst Marten of Holiday, Fla, and the late Mr. and Mrs. G.W. French of Tennessee.
Following a wedding cruise, the couple will reside in Mount Clemens, Mich.

Obituary of Robert Marten French
Robert M. "Bob" French of Tampa, Florida passed away Monday, September 23, 2019. Born in Garden City, Michigan, Bob graduated from the University of Michigan before moving to Tampa, Florida in 1994. Bob took quickly to his new Floridian home enjoying grilling and floating in the pool, tennis, golf, convertibles and becoming an ardent fan of the Tampa Bay Lightning. Bob was also a talented winemaker and avid baseball card collector. Bob leaves behind his beautiful wife Lisa French, beloved mother Gudi French, daughter Allyson (Justin) Barnes whom he cheered on in the pool, son Derek French whom he loved to coach on the diamond, and brother Steve (Kelly) French.
Those who knew Bob knew his blood ran maize and blue. To honor this, the family will be celebrating Bob's life by hosting a Michigan tailgate at their home, 18017 Palm Breeze Dr. on Saturday, October 5, 2019 from 12-4pm to cheer the Wolverines to victory. Go Blue!
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to The American Diabetes Association
A godly man, a family man, and a Michigan man, Bob will be dearly missed.
