LAWRENCEBURG - Robert A. Fitch, 63, RR1, a retired engineer, died Thursday at the Dearborn County Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Marguerite M.; two daughters, Mrs. Early Patterson. Philadelphia, Pa., and Mrs. Saul Herman, Indianapolis; two brothers, Theordore H. and Thomas C., both of Lawrenceburg, and four grandchilden.
Mr. Fitch was the first student to graduate from Purdue University with an industrial engineering degree in 1929. He was employed with the Gulf Laboratory, Pittsburgh, Pa., for 30 years where he worked with the early rocket programs and later with the manned space program. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Fitch Brothers Fineral Home. Burial, Greendale Cemetery. Visitation, 6-9 p.m. today, with Masonic services at 7:30 p.m., at the funeral home.
