Mrs. Arthelia Stieffel was installed as president on the women's auxiliary of Leo Watermier Post No. 3773, Veterans of Foreign Wars, to succeed Miss Cornelia deRoode at ceremonied held in the Monteleone hotel Monday night. Mrs. Edythe Redmon, state department president, was installing officer.

50TH ANNIVERSARY OF WEDDING HAILED
Mr. and Mrs. E. l. Stieffel, 2846 Grand Route St. John, Tuesday observed their 50th wedding anniversity with a family "get-together" at the residence. Participating in the celebration, Ray Stieffel and Alton Stieffel, both of Waveland, Miss., and Mrs. E. M. Schneider, Houston, Tex. The couple has 17 grandchildren, who also attended the observance.
Stieffel, a native of New Orleans, is a retired freight claim adjuster for the Louisville and Nashville Railroad Company.

STIEFFEL -- On Monday evening, June 24, 1957, at 8:05 o'clock, ARTHELIA JANE FAYARD, in her 77th year, wife of Emile L. Stieffel: mother of Mrs. Arthelia Snyder, Ray H. and Alton James Stieffel and the late Emile Fayard and James J. Stieffel; also survived by Mrs. Annamae Silbernagel, Emile L. Stieffel and 11 other grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the P. J. McMahon and Sons funeral home, 4800 Canal street, near cemeteries., [6/26/1957] at 8:30 o'clock Wednesday morning, June 26, 1957, followed by requiem mass at St. Rose de Lima church. Interment in Metairie cemetery.
