Died Friday at 3:45 a.m. at his residence on Scenic Highway, Rt.1, Zachary. A native of Galvez, he was 77 years old, a retired merchant and dairyman. Religious services will be conducted at Welsh Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Sunday by the Rev. Billy K. Smith. Interment will be in Greenoaks Memorial Park with Masonic rites at the graveside. Pallbearers will be H.D. Shipp Jr., Fred w. Crumholt, G.C. Crumhold III, and Worth Evans.
Suvivors include his widow, the former Mary Ratcliff; two daughters, Mrs. Gillie C. Crumholt, Baker, and Mrs. Truvie Garcia, San Antonio; four sisters, Mrs. C.M. Brawley, Baton Rouge; Mrs. Ed Broussard, Prairieville; Mrs. G.E. Delaune, Thibodaux, and Mrs. W.C. Beeder, Gonzales; one brother, M.P. Evans, Gonzales, seven grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and numerous neices and nephews. He was a member of Monte Sano Baptist Church and Istrouna Lodge 414, F&AM.
