Mr. and Mrs. John A. Durnin of Denham Springs announce the engagement of their daughter, Ward Ann, to Mr. Michael Carey Freeman, son of Mr. amd Mrs. Sam C. Chase of Clinton.
A small wedding attended by members of the immediate families is planned April 11 in the Durnin home.
The bride-elect is a senior at Live Oak High School. Her fiance finished at Clinton High School and attends a business college.

Ward Ann Salem (Durnin)
Ward Ann Salem (Durnin), 65, of Destin Florida, passed away on May 31, 2016 in Baton Rouge, LA after heroically battling Stage IV bladder cancer.
She was born to the late B. Lucille and John Alexander Durnin on July 3, 1950. Ward Ann attended Live Oak High School before attending Southeastern University in Accounting. Her professional career included employment at Dow Chemical, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, US Dept. of Energy, and was retired from Greenwell Springs Hospital where she was in charge of the IT department. She also owned Pet Pourri in Destin, FL. Ward Ann was a member of the Ft. Walton Beach Red Hat Society and Live Oak Methodist Church. A home decorating enthusiast, Ward Ann loved to decorate, design custom jewelry and providing tips to strangers. She also loved taking care of her Parrots, Sugar gliders, Dogs, and Cats. Her husband, son, and grandchildren brought her joy and happiness. She also liked chocolate, ice cream, and shopping. She was a very loving person with a big heart ready to help anyone.
Ward Ann was preceded by her parents and brother Joseph A, Durnin. Survived by her Husband KM Salem; son, daughter in-Law and two grandchildren Michael, Lexy, Madelyn and Tripp Freeman; brother and sister in-law John A. and Lauri Durnin; two Chihuahua's Chi Chi and Cha Chi.
Funeral arrangements will be held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs, LA starting at 5 P.M. Friday 6/3 followed by burial services Saturday 6/4/2016 at 1:00 P.M. Special thanks to family, friends and care givers who helped enrich Ward Ann's life.
