The last of nine children, she was born in a Cuppershop in Centerville, MS., January 7, 1905 and passed away Sunday, February 13, 2005. at 8 p. m at the Touro Infirmary in New Orleans. She was a retired AT&T
employee and a lifeiong resident of Metalrie, LA. She had just recently celebrated her 100th birthday and lived a happy. content and fulffilling life She stated that she attributed her long Iife to daily prayer a posture attitude.obeying her parents and a deep commitment and love of Jesus Christ. A resident of Masions Hospitaliere' and The New Orleanian retirement home A 45 year member of St Francis Xavier Church in
Metaine she was a pillar in the community Living a full and fascinating life. Mamie always said Life is what you make it. Mamie was one of the most unselfish people loving unconditionally while continually giving and
always thinking of others She always found the best in everyone and was a constant source of enuragement and inspiration to those who knew er.
Mamie was preceded in death by her husband. Dewey John Richardson (May 12 1898 - Sept 5 1956) of Sprmglietd, LA His grandiather George Richardson had been the master at the Carter Plantation in Springfield, LA, now the Carter Plantation Country Club She is survived by her three sons Rodney Dewey Richardson Sr and wife Pansy Baker LA, Elwood Richardson of the New Orleans French Quarter and Warren Richardson of Pass Christian MS grandchildren Catherine Donna Jo McMillin of Penscola, FL. Mamie Catherine Deckelmann Richardson, a. retired telephone 0perator for AT&T, died Monday at Touro Infirmary. She was 100. Mrs. Richardson was born in Centenville, formerly lived in Metairie and lived in
New Orleans for most of her life. She attended Sophie B. Wright High School. She-was a parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Metaine for 45 years. Survivors include three sons, Rodney, Elwood and Warren Richardson; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. A Mass will be said Saturday at 1 p.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. Visitation will be Friday at 7 to 10 pm. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial will be in All Saints Mausoleum.
