DURNIN, ALEX J.
Died Sunday at 10:15 a.m. at Lallie Kemp Hospital in Independence. He was a resident of Greensburg, a native of Amite and a retired farmer. He was 89. Body at Brown Funeral Home in Amite with religious services set at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Helena Catholic Church, Amite conducted by Rev. Hoff. Interment in Robert Cemetery, west of Amite. Grandsons will be pallbearers.
Survived by his wife, Mrs. Anna Durnin, Greensburg; four sons, Davis and Arnold, Greensburg, A. K. of Baton Rouge, and John, Denham Springs; three daughters, Mrs. Mildred Rohner, Greensburg, Mrs. W. A. McGehee, Zachary, and Mrs. Jack Herbert, Hammond; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Robertson and Mrs. Mae Thompson, both of Amite; 24 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
