Betrothal of Madera Girl Announced
   Miss Aileen Cunningham, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Craig Cunningham of Madera, announced her betrothal at a luncheon dessert held at the Hotel Durant in Berkeley Saturday, May 22, to Preston A. Jones, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. A.
Jones of Berkeley.
   Parchment scrolls concealed in corsages revealed the betrothal. Those hidden to the lovely affair were: Mesdames: Mrs. Craig Cunningham, Elder Morgan, D. H. Ransom of Madera, Leonard Walton, Merle Baskett, Norman Gordon, W. A. Jones. Irving Phaffenberger, Clifford Cleek, Robt. Rogers. Robert Smallie, Stanley Ulrich,  Oscar Hunsaker, W. E. Cunningham, Truman
Bratton,  Weldon Anderson, Willlam F. McCullough, F. B. Robinson, C. R. Edmundston.
   Misses: Ester Palmberg, Thorma Krygell, Marjorie Shurtleff, Aloha Prange, Jessie Thomas, Anita Campbell, Pearl Terry, Loretta Lane, Carol Green, Irene Hailes, Helen Maxwell, Marlon Tweedy, Nadine McCall, Florence Wilson, Irene Ransom.
   Miss Cunningham is a graduate of the University of California and is affiliated with Theta Upsilon. Mr. Jones who is also a U. C. graduate is a member of Sigma Pi. A June wedding is being planned by the young couple.
   Yesterday afternoon, Miss Betty Avery, Miss Marjorie Beal, Miss Jane McCloskey and Miss Virginia Saam entertained at a garden tea at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold T. Avery on Mandana Boulevard.
   More than 200 guests accepting the hospitality of the hostesses are
graduating from the University High School.
   Those assisting the sub debs were Mesdames Harold T. Avery, Archer L.  Beal, Desaix McCioskey, John G. Saam. Harry A. Noble Jr., Barry D. Price, and the Misses Marjorie Barker, Muriel Burrows, Marianne Cherry, Patricia Finerty, Virginia Laughlin, Marjorie McKee and Betty Jane Null.

Miss Cunningham And Preston Jones Are Wed
   Mr. and Mrs. Preston Jones have returned from a wedding trip near Lake Tahoe and are now at home to their friends in their new residence at 17- Eldridge Court in Berkeley.
   They were married in Carson City, Nev., June 12th.
   The bride,  the former Aileen Cunningham is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Craig Cunningham of Madera. Since her graduation from the University of California at Berkeley, where she was a member of the Theta Epsilon Sorority, she has been employed as an instructor at Lincoln school in Richmond.
   The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Jones of Berkeley, former Modestans, and the brother of Mrs. William McCullough, the former Miss Sidney Ann Jones. He is a nephew or Mrs. J. M. Culpepper of Modesto.
   The engagement was announced ln May at a luncheon party given in Berkeley by the bride.
