Cornelius- Peters Wedding Saturday
The marriage of Miss Frances Margaret Cornelius, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Cornelius, Lawrenceburg and Sergeant Henry J. Peters, only son or Mr. and Mrs. John Peters, Aurora, was solemnized in a lovely candlelight service, last Saturday evening, June 30 in Hamlin Methodist church, Lawrenceburg.
The church was beautifully decorated with summer flowers for the event and soft light from waxen tapers cast a lovely glow over the impressive scene. The church organist played bridal airs preceeding and during the service. Mrs. Robert Cook sang 'Oh Promise Me'. Church ushers were Capt. John Hannah and George Terrill, who recently was discharged from Army service.
The bride wore a White net-floor length gown with finger-tip veil. She carried white roses and about her neck wore a single strand of pearls, gift of the groom. Her sister, Miss Phyllis Cornelius served as bridesmaid. She wore a floor length frock of white georgette skirt and blue flowered top, and carried pink rosebuds. Following the marriage ceremony a reception was held at the Greendale Cabin, after which the newlyweds left for a wedding trip to the Cumberlands Falls, Ky.
The bride is a graduate of Lawrenceburg high school, class of 1940, and has been employed for some time in the offices of the A. D. Cook Co., Inc. Sgt. Peters graduated from Aurora high school and has been in the army several
years. He returned several months ago after serving with the American army in the European Aera. He is now a patient at Billings Hospital, Indianapolis, convalescing from leg injuries suffered in line of duty overseas.
