Mr. and Mrs. John Henry Edwards have announced the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Miss Martha Marie Edwards, to Mr. Frank Johnson Coogan of Baton Rouge, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James A. Coogan of Kansas City, Mo. The wedding will take place Saturday, April 12, at 11 o'clock in the morning at the Holy Name of Jesus church.
Miss Edwards, whose mother is the former Miss Cecile Fabacher, attended Newcomb college, where she was a pledge to the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority.
Mr. Coogan, whose late mother was formerly Miss Margaret Davey of New Orleans, attended Rockhurst Preparatory school and is a graduate of the engineering school of the University of Kansas, where he was a member of Delta Tau Delta and Tau Beta Pi franternities.

Frank Coogan Dies on Friday, IPCo Official
MOBILE \emdash Frank J. Coogan, Assistant Pulp Mill Coordinator for International Paper Company's Southern Kraft Division, died in Mobile Friday night. He was 57.
Mr. Coogan was regarded as one of the pulp and paper industry's outstanding authorities on air and water management, having worked for more than 27 years on problems encountered by the industry in this area.
A native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Mr. Coogan attended the University of Kansas, receiving a degree in chemical engineering in 1935.
He was employed by the U. S. Geological Survey of the state of Kansas and the Louisiana Stream
Control Commission in Baton Rouge prior to joining I-P in 1956.
He was a registered professional engineer in Louisiana; member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers; immediate past chairman of the Affluent Waters Committee of the Water Division of the Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry; and a member of the Industrial Waste Committee
of the Water Pollution Control Federation.
He is survived by two daughters, Margaret and Ellen of Mobile, and a brother, Allen Coogan,
of Palo Alto, California.
Funeral services were held in Mobile February 5 with interment in New Orleans.
