Mr. and Mrs. William E. Daugherty, Jr. (Pauline Etta Guard), whose marriage took place sunday June 9, in Bright Methodist church, are residing in an apartment near Indianapolis and will return to Purdue University in the fall to finish their Senior years. Mrs. Daugherty is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William B. Guard of route 1, Lawrenceburg and Mr. Daugherty is the son of Mr; and Mrs. William E. Daugherty of route 1. New Palestine. Ind.
The double ring ceremony was performed at half after two o'clock in the afternoon, with the Rev. James M. Austin officiating, assisted by the Rev. John Bobak of Lafayette. A reception was held immediately afterward in the church basement.
The church was decorated with baskets of white Ismene lilies and sword fern, and two-seven branched candelabra, tied with White ribbon and fernery at the altar. Before the exchange of vows Mrs. Gerald Nevitt, accompanied by Miss
Maxim Smith, beautifully sang "I Love You Truly". "Wedding .Prayer" and "The Lord's Prayer".
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length wedding gown featuring a full skirt of net and tulle over satin, and lace over satin, fitted bodice styled with V neckline, long sleeves and pearl trim neckline. Her headpiece
was of matching lace edged with pearls, she wore a soft tulle fingertip veil, and her only jewelry was is single strand of pearls, a gift from the bridegroom. She carried a white Bible covered with tiny rosebuds and the flower of love with streamers hanging from the Bible.
Miss Laverne Guard, a sister of the bride, was maid of honor, and the bridegrooms sister, Miss Georgie Daugherty and Miss Shirley Delaney of Lafayette, were the bridesmaids.
The maid of honor was gowned in a pastel blue floor length gown of lace and tulle over taffeta, and the bridesmaids wore identical gowns in a soft shade of pink. They wore formal headbands that matched their gowns and carried baskets of summer chrysanthemums and rosebuds tied with matching ribbon

The bridegroom's best man was Gerald Nevitt of Anderson, and Herbert Scheim of Indianapolis and Larry Grubbs of Harrison were ushers.
The bride's mother wore a cotillion blue brocaded taffeta dress with matching blue hat and white accessories, and a corsage of pink roseibuds. The bridegroom's mother wore a navy blue crepe dress with white accessories and her corsage was also of pink rosebuds.
For the reception. the church basement was decorated with large white wedding bells and streamers over the gift table. The four-tier wedding cake, topped with bridal figurines, which had been baked and decorated by the bride's mother, was cut and served with punch and other refreshments.
For traveling on their wedding trip to Lake Michigan, the bride wore a copen blue tailored dress with white accessories, and the center of her bridal bouquet as a corsage.
The bride was graduated trom Bright high school and has just completed her Junior year at Purdue University school of Home Ec. Mr. Daugherty, a graduate of New Palestine high school. has completed his Junior year at Purdue University, school of agriculture, and is employed at Kroger Dairy Plant for the summer.
