June Adeline Davis, 88, formerly of Danville, passed away at 4:15 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008, at the Joliet Community Hospice with her family at her side.

June was born July 7, 1920, in Muncie, Ill., the daughter of Earl and Pearl Davis. On Sept. 21, 1941, she married Rev. Lloyd Ernest Davis. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Rev. Lloyd along with their children, daughter, Barbara Davis, and son, Larry (Joan) Davis; grandsons, Tony Picklesimer, Todd (Joni) Picklesimer and great-granddaughters, Courtney and Jordan Picklesimer. Sisters, Wintress (Mit) Christoff, Bonnie (Harold) Spain, and brother, Frank (Myra) Davis. Preceding her in death were her parents, brothers, Earnest and Emil Davis, sister, Norma Wilson, and grandson, Bryce Davis.

June was a homemaker and served as beloved pastor's wife for several United Methodist congregations throughout the Midwest, including Farmers Chapel United Methodist Church in Danville. June treasured her memories of good times with her parents, brothers and sisters. Her family was her greatest joy and she loved spending time with her husband and children. She always liked joking and would introduce herself as " I'm June, born in July."

A celebration of June's life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St. with Pastor Richard Sullins officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until time of services Saturday. In lieu of flowers, please contribute in June's name to your favorite charity.
