Death Takes Sportsman, Business Leader
Blaise Salvador D'Antoni Sr., New Orleans businessman and past president of Standard Fruit and Steamship Co., died Sunday at 11 a.m. at his home after a long illness. He was 75.
Funeral services will be conducted from House of Bultman, 3338 St. Charles Ave., Tuesday at 11 a.m. A Requiem Mass will follow at Mater Dolorosa Church, 1226 S. Carrolton.
Interment will be in Metairie Cemetery.
A native of New Orleans, Mr. D'Antoni attended Loyola University. He was elected president of Standard Fruit and Steamship Co. in 1949. Prior to that time he had served as executive vice president. Mr. D'Antoni retired from the company in 1952.
He served as a member of the city's Police Advisory Board in 1949.
An avid sportsman, Mr. D'Antoni also served as chairman of the board of Louisiana Boxing Enterprises, Inc.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Dorothy Barrentine D'Antoni; his mother, Mrs. Mary Vaccaro D'Antoni; three sons, Blaise S. Jr., Lawrence F., and Donald J. D'Antoni, all of New Orleans; one daughter, Mrs. Harold M. Morales, of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Rosina D'Antoni and Mrs. B. C. Cannon, both of New Orleans; one brother, Dr. Joseph C. D'Antoni, of New Orleans; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will include Dr. Joseph C. Menendez. U.S. Rep. F. Edward Hebert, Pete Herman, Clem Sehrt, Robert F. Maestri, Louis H. Pilie, Irwin F. Poche, Capt. Neville Levy, Dr. A. D. Smith and Salvador Carollo.

Miss Fabacher will have as her attendants Miss Marie Milhas, Miss Antonina Lombardo and Miss Edna Wade. A wedding breakfast will be given by Mr. and Mrs. Fabacher at their home in St. Charles avenue.
Mr. and Mrs. Fabacher will also entertain at a prenuptial dinner party Sumnday evening at home, in honor of their daughter. The other guests will include members of the bridal party.
