Richardson, Kelle Ann Reichert, Marsha, Richard E., Ellis R. Jr., Michael R., Keith R., Patrick R. and Gregory R. Abide. Son of the late Richard Abide and Mary Kelley Abide. Brother of A. J. Abide, Mrs. Adele Joseph, Mrs. Mathilda Shibley, Mrs. Amelia Prats, Mrs. Hannah Nolan and Mrs. Rosemary Benitez. Also survived by 9 grandchildren. Age 65 years. A native of New Orleans, LA.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral. Services from the Funeral Home of JACOB SCHOEN & SON, INC., 3827 CANAL ST. AT N. SCOTT on Monday, August 15, 1988 at 9:30 o'clock a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 6666 Spanish Fort Blvd. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery. Recitation of the Rosary at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, contributions to : Metanoia Inc. (for the benefit of children), P.O. Box 13516, New Orleans, LA. 70185 preferred. Friends may call between 6:00 and 9:00 p.m. on Sunday and after 8:30 a.m. on Monday.

Ellis Richard AbideSr., chairman of the board at Kelley & Abide Co., Inc., died Friday at East Jefferson General Hospital after a long illness. He was 65. Mr. Abide was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. He was past president of the board of the Salvation Army, past president of Dixie Holiday Inc., and the Southern Federation of Syrian Lebanese Clubs, and lieutenant commander in the Navy during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Stringer Abide; six sons, Ellis Richard Jr., Richard E., Michael R., Keith R., Patrick R. and Gregory R. Abide; four daughters, Cynthia A. Pacaccio, Mary A. Richardson, Kelle Ann Reichert, and Marsha R. Abide; his brother, A.J. Abide; five sisters, Adele A. Joseph, Tillie A. Shibley, Hannah A. Nolan, Amelia A. Prats, and Rosemary A. Benitez; and grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday at 8:30 a.m. at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
