Frank Caruso Sr.,a retired engineer for the city of New Orleans, died Thursday of cancer at Chalmette General Hospital. He was 66. Mr. Caruso was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. He is survived by three daughters, Phyllis Schehr, Cheryl Mason and Penny Hackney; two sisters, Mathilde Dieck and Anderina Karcher; one brother, John Caruso; and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be held today at 1 p.m. at Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp Funeral Home, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd., Metairie. Burial will be in St. Louis Cemetery No. 3.
