Miss Dorothy Young Becomes Bride Of Richard J. Lampton
Miss Dorothy Young, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Young of Rocky Mount, became the bride of Richard J. Lampton, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Lampton of
New Orleans, on Saturday, July 17, at St. John's Catholic Church in Shreveport. Father Lorig performed the double-ring ceremony.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a wedding gown of white marquisette, fashioned with fitted bodice, long sleeves and full skirt which extended into a train. Her fingertip illusion veil was edged with lace and she carried a bouquet of gardenias, showered with tube-roses.
Miss Patsy Lampton, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Hazel Mouton of Lafayette, were the bride's attendants. They wore matchirig gowns of pale green marquisette and their bouquets were of yellow majestic daisies.
Bertral Lampton served his brother as best man and Artell Tinsley of Shreveport was groomsman.
A reception was held in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Artell Tinsley on Stephenson avenue. The bride's table which was covered with a white embroidered cutwork cloth, held a tiered wedding cake and punch bowl and was centered with an arrangement of white Ester Reed daisies and fern.
When Mr. and Mrs. Lampton left on their wedding trip to Miami, Fla., the bride was wearing a rose shantung suit with white and navy blue accessories and a corsage of white carnations.
The bride received her degree from Louisiana Polytechnic Institute of Ruston where she was an active member of the Phi Mu. sorority. She is a member of the Dietetics Association and was dietitian at Touro lnfirmary in New Orleans before her marriage.
The bridegroom attended Louisiana State University and was an officer in the United States Navy during the war.
