Connor Wykoff
Conner Wykoff, 77, Indianapolis, a member of the Executive Board and former Recording Secretary of the Bedford Stone Cutters and Carvers Union, died suddenly and unexpectedly Saturday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. James McCarthy, in Dearborn Heights, Michigan. Death was attributed
to a heart attack.
A native and former resident of Bedford, as well as a retired stone carver, Mr. Wykoff was born January 28, 1894, to Benjamin and Ida Thomas Wykoff. He was married first in 1913 to Dessie Mullen, who preceded him in death Nov. 14, 1926, and secondly to Catherine Meyers in September of 1927. She preceded him in death in 1966.
Mr. Wykoff was employed in local stone mills, and was a member of the First Christian Church of Bedford and the Stone Cutters and Carvers Union.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. James (Ethel) McCarthy of Dearborn Heights, Michigan; two sons, Harold and Gerald Wykoff, both of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren; six great - grandchildren; five brothers, Stanley, Wilmer and Dudley Wykoff, Sr., all of Bedford, Raymond Wykoff of Vero
Beach, Florida and Nyman Wykoff of Warner - Itobins, Georgia and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Ferguson - Lee Funeral Home, with the Rev. Donald Tharp officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery.
