At 5 p. m. November 27 in the chapel of the First Methodist Church of Camden Miss Lavern Morgan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Morgan of Fordyce, became the bride of William Curtis Ward, son of Mrs. C. D. Ward and the late
Mr. Ward of Prescott.
Rev. Warren D. Golden of Prescott read the single ring ceremony before a setting of white gladiola and fern in floor baskets
For her wedding the bride wore a street length frock of white velveteen with matching Jacket trimmed in seed pearls and rhinestones. Her hat was white Velveteen trimmed in seed pearls. A corsage of white orchids completed her ensemble.
Miss Anna Carter of Dallas, Texas, maid of honor, wore a street length dress of light blue velveteen. Her hat was light blue feathers trimmed in rhinestones
and her corsage was pink rosebuds.
Howard Davis of Prescott was best man.
After a wedding trip in New Orleans. La., Mayor and Mrs. Ward will be at home in Prescott.
The bride is a graduate of Fordyce High School and the groom is a graduate of Prescott High School and the University of Arkansas Fayetteville.

William Curtis Ward, age 88, of Texarkana, Texas died Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at his residence. Mr. Ward was born November 5, 1925, in Prescott, Arkansas. He was the retired owner of Ward Forest Products. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in WWII, was a member of Williams Memorial United Methodist Church, a former Texarkana, Texas City Councilman, and past president of the Texarkana Chamber of Commerce. He is survived by his wife LaVerne Ward of Texarkana, Texas; a son and daughter-in-law David and Susan Ward of Texarkana, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Steve Ledwell of Texarkana, Texas; grandchildren Marshall Ward of Texarkana, Texas; Anna Ward of Texarkana, Texas; Kelsey Ward Crews and her husband Kory of San Antonio, Texas; Ben Ledwell and his wife Meredith of Texarkana, Texas; Lesley Ledwell of Austin, Texas; Morgan Ledwell Gaddis and her husband Ben of Austin, Texas; and two great grandchildren Lillian and Evelyn Rose Ledwell of Texarkana, Texas. Services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, March 28, 2014, at Williams Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Brad Morgan officiating. Private internment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
