Obituary for Glen Moore Wales
Glen, age 97, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, September 19, 2023. He was a native of Greensburg and a longtime resident of Albany, LA. Glen served as a teacher in the Livingston Parish School system for over 31 years where he retired. He was a devout Catholic and a faithful member of St. Margaret Queen of Scotland Catholic Church. Glen was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who is already dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Glen is survived by his daughters, Dawn LiRocchi (Stephen), and Karen Dunnington; sons, Lennie Wales (Dawn), Lyle Wales, and James Wales; sisters, Hazel Cornette, Eloise Lockwood, and Betty Jo Kirkwood; eleven (11) grandchildren; thirteen (13) great-grandchildren one (1) great-great-grandchild; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Glen is preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Vivian Wales; parents, James and Bernice Wales, and son-in-law, Larry Dunnington.
Pallbearers are Josh Wales, Jeremy Dunnington, Lyle Wales II, Tayler LiRocchi, Landon Newman, Marty Vutera, Stephen Ridgdell, and Jesse Womack. Honorary pallbearer is Nick Wales.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation from the Chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, 12012 Hwy 190 West, Hammond, LA. on Monday, September 25, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Margaret Queen of Scotland Catholic Church in Albany, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Fr. Paul Gros will officiate with interment to follow in church cemetery.
