Matthew 'Red' Peters Toomey passed away on Frlday, August 17, 2012, at 3:00pm. Beloved husband ol Elizabeth "Betty" Schomburg. Son ol the late Matthew Charles Toomey, Jr., and Bertha Peters Toomey. Brother ol the late Grace Toomey Barbarlch. Uncle ol the late Lear Pete Barbarich, Jr.
He was a graduate at Francis T. Ntcholls High School. He played Legion and professional baseball. and was a U.S.. Navy veteran of WWII. He was also a retiree ol the New Orleans Clerks and Checkers local 1497.
Relatives and friends ol the famlly are lnvited to attend the funeral Mass on Tuesday, August 21, 2012. at 12:00pm., at Greenwood Funeral Home (formerly All Faiths), 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124. Vlsltation will be from 10:00am until service time. Interment Immediately following in Greenwood Mausoteum.
