The wedding of Miss Yvonne Crane, daughter of Mrs. Warren Crane and the late Mr. Crane, and Mr. Richard Brown, son of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Brown of St. Louis, Mo., was celebrated Saturday evening at the home of the bride's mother on Peniston street. The Rev. Hilton Crane, S. J., and the Rev. Harry Crane, S. J., cousins of the bride, officiated and assisted at the ceremony.
The reception rooms of the home were beautifully decorated with smilax, peonies, gladioli and stephanotis, and on the improvised altar in the large double parlor were flowers and seven-branch candelabra.
Given in marriage by her brother, Mr. Rene M. Crane, Miss Crane was lovely in a white marquisette dress made with a long bodice shirred to the hips and having a heart-shaped neckline. The sleeves were three-quarters length and puffed and the bouffant skirt ended in a long train. Her veil of illusion was held to her head by a coronet of orange blossoms and she carried a cascade bouquet of white orchids and stephanotts. She wore a single string of pearls which belonged to her mother.
The bride's only attendant was her sister, Miss Victory Crane, who wore a white dress made on the same lines as the bride's, but without train. She carried a cascade bouquet of red carnations and wore red carnations in her hair.
Mr. Frank Abernathy of Greensboro, N. C., was the only attendant on the bridegroom.
A small reception followed the ceremony. Later in the evening the young couple left on a wedding trip to New York, whence they will go to the West coast to reside. The bride's traveling dress was of ashes and roses crepe with which she wore brown and beige accessories.
The bride attended Ursuline college and the bridegroom was graduated from De Pauw university in Greencastle, Ind., and later attended the Babson Institute of Busines in Babson Park, Mass. He is a member of Delta Tau Delta social fraternity and Phi Betta Kappa and Blue Key, national honorary fraternities.
