Charles W. Stevens, Former Head of Gravel Firm, Dies
Charles W. Stevens. 80. 3920 Millersville Dr., former gravel company head, died yesterday in Huft's Sanitarium, 115 S. Audubon Rd.
Born in Harrison County, Ohio, Mr. Stevens had lived in lIndianapolis 55 years. Associated with the gravel industry 30 years, he had operated the C. W. Stevens Gravel Co. 15 years. He was last associated with the
Empire Life Insurance Co.
Mr. Stevens was a member of the Methodist Church and Pentalpha Masonic Lodge.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm. Wednesday in Shirley Brothers Irving Hill Chapel. Burial will be in Washington Park Cemetery.
Survivors are two sons.Gaeo E. Stevens, Indianapolis, and Enos V. Stevens, Columbus. 0.; a daughter, Mrs. Lorena Baier, Detroit. Mich; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
