The marriage of Miss Irma Florence Briede, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Henry Briede and Mr. Thomas K. Shepherd was celebrated Thursday at 7:30 o'clock in the presence of a large gathering of relatives and friends at the Parker Memorial church, which was decorated with quantities of palms, ferns. The bride attendants were Miss Alva Bond who acted as maid of honor and Miss Francis Hartel, as bridesmaid. They wore gowns of pink georgette and lace with pink georgette hats with trimmings of burnt goose and carried pink roses and ferns. The best man was Mr. Edward Zansler, the groomsman, Mr. James Hassinger and the ushers Messrs. Henry Keith, Gilbert Molloy and Harry Briede.
The impressive ceremony was performed by the Reverend Dr. F. M. Freeman. Lohengrins wedding march was played as the bride entered and during the ceremony "At Dawning" was softly rendered. Mendelsohn's wedding march was given as a recessional. The bride who was given away by her father wore a gown of white georgette over satin trimmed with lace. The veil of illusion which fell to the hem of the long train of satin was held in place by orange blossoms. The nuptial bouquet was of bride's roses and valley lillies.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents in Camp street. The rooms were decorated with palms, ferns and quantities of daisies. Mrs. Briede was assisted in receiving by the bridal party and her daughters, Mrs. Keith, Mrs. C. E. McLean and Mrs. W. H. Briede. Mrs. Briede, the bride's mother wore a gown of white crepe de chine. The bridal table was decorated with pink and white roses and maiden hair ferns. Mr. and Mrs. Shepherd are off on a bridal tour and on their return will go to housekeeping at 5514 Camp street where they will be at home to their friends after July 5.
