Obituaries - February 25, 2006 William Wortham
Mr. William H. "Billy" Wortham, age 77 of McDonough, formerly of Jonesboro passed away Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006 at Piedmont Hospital. He was born Sept.13, 1928 in Etowah County, Ala. to the late William Homer Wortham and Mary Juel Tolbert Wortham Upshaw. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, John Upshaw and sister, Ann Duffy. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, was a graduate of Tech High School class of 1947, and had been employed with Coca-Cola Bottling, Pepsi-Cola Bottling, and Ultra Vend. Survivors include his wife of nearly 50 years, Joyce Logan Wortham; daughters, Kathryn and Greg Brown, Sandra and Andrew Silbernagel; granddaughters, Lauren and Julia Brown, Savannah, Emily, and Gracie Silbernagel; and his Shelti, Chip.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Feb. 27, 2006 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. The Rev. Al O'Quinn and The Rev. Greg Brown will officiate. Interment will follow at Jackson City Cemetery. Friends may visit the family Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
