The marriage of Miss Gretchen Mary Crane, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George E. Crane, to Mr. George V. Werner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry F. Werner, was celebrated recently at Mater Delorosa church with the Reverend Father Warren Volk officiating.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white satin which fell into a long train. Her veil of illusion was caught to her by a small wreath of orange blossoms. She carried a white prayer book from which fell a spray of white camellias and satin ribbons.
The attendants on the bride included the bridegroom's sister, Mrs. Quentin L. Ault, as matron of honor, and the bride's sister, Miss Betty Crane, as bridesmaid. They wore gowns of pale pink satin, made on lines similar to the gown worn by the bride. They wore delicate pink camellias in their hair and carried round bouquets of similar blossoms.
Mr. Werner had as his best man, his brother, Mr. Henry Werner, Jr., and as his groomsman, Mr. Kiley Sanford. The ushers were Mr. Alvin Prechter and Mr. George E. Crane Jr., brother of the bride.
Mrs. T. C. Hebert, the bride's aunt, rendered several vocal selections -- before the ceremony and during the signing of the register.
After a reception held at the home of the bride's parents on Burthe street, the young couple left on a wedding trip on the Gulf coast. For traveling, the bride wore a dressmaker suit of winter white. Her hat and accessories were of brown.
Out-of-town guests here for the wedding included Mrs. John Conner of Bay St. Louis, Miss.; Mr. and Mrs. George E. Crane, Jr., of Washington, D.C., and Chaplain Edward Goss, S. J.
