Mary Elizabeth Karsteter, 95, of Lawrenceburg passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at the Woodland Hill Nursing Center in Lawrenceburg. She was born at Rising Sun on April 27, 1913 the daughter of Henry Earl and Grace Hanna Williams. She was married to A. Creighton "Peck" Karsteter on November 14, 1931 and he preceded her in death on December 25, 2001. Survivors include one son A. Steven (Sue) Karsteter of Lawrenceburg; two daughters Barbara Harrison of Lawrenceburg and Patricia (Rodney) Kinzer of The Villages, Florida; 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her great- grandson Matthew Kinzer. Mrs. Karsteter was a 1931 graduate of Rising Sun High School. She had attended Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and Purdue University. She was a homemaker, an avid bridge player, and a member of the Bright Christian Church. She was also a 75-year member of Tri-Kappa and had been a 20-year volunteer for the Dearborn County Welfare Department. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 26th at 2pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Mark Fugate officiating. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery at Aurora. Memorials may be given to the Lawrenceburg Public Library, Tri-Kappa Memorial Fund, P.A.W.S.
