George Washington White Sr.

Sometime around 1800 George owned a plantation in Kentucky. He owned barges and he would bring his cotton down the Mississippi river to Baton Rouge, La. where he would sell it. During one of these trips he and fell in love with Melissa Spiller. They were married there.
They went to Holden, La. and homesteaded 480 acres of land. They had one son they named George Washington White Jr.
Some time later George returned to Kentucky to sell his interest in the plantation. He sold it and received the money and started back for Louisiana. He was never heard from again. His family in Kentucky tried to trace him but to no avail. They assumed he had been killed and robbed on the way. He and Melissa had only been married 1½ years.
George Jr. married Elizabeth Kinchen and they had five children that I know of. The had three sons, George Calvin, Jerry and Preston. They had two daughters with the nicknames Of "Pet" and "Pete". I do not know their given names.
