Obituary
Annamae Rose Miller, age 95, of Slidell LA, passed away on June 12, 2020.

She was born April 22, 1925 in New Orleans, LA. and lived there until the 1970's when she moved to Chalmette, LA. Around the mid 1990's she relocated to Slidell, LA. Annamae is preceded in death by her parents, Julius Ralph Rose and Mary Barbara Silbernagel Rose and her four siblings Iris Englehardt, Evelyn Nillen, Ralph Rose and Julius Rose. Also preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Mr. George William Miller Sr. with whom she shared forty-one wonderful years of marriage, two of their children, George W. Miller Jr. And Barbara L. Drain along with seven grandchildren. Also preceded in death by her grandmother and midwife Rosa Born who she loved dearly.

She is survived by her six children, Carol Mangipano (the late Robert), Linda Villa (Christopher) Clarence Miller (MaryAnn), Julius Miller (Paula), Cindy Green (William), and Gwendolyn Jones (Michael). Also left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren Sherry, Tony, Vicki, Glen, Mikey, Jonathan, Denise, Jerry, Chris Jr, Timmy, Amy, Jason, Melissa, Chad, Shawn, Aaron, Stephanie and Desiree, 36 great grandchildren, and 22 great-great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews and others that she considered family.

Annamae was an amazing mother and grandmother and the matriarch of her family. She lived a full life as a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, cleaning, ironing, sewing and embroidery. In her earlier years, her and her husband enjoyed going out dancing, having picnics and spending time with family. As she got older, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and teaching them how to play cards. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and she loved to have all her children and grandchildren together to celebrate. You could see her eyes light up across the room when her family was altogether. She also loved sweets, especially chocolate, and even if she didn't have an appetite for food, she could drink a milkshake with no problem. Her love of sweets came in a close second behind the love she had for her family.

As her health declined over the past 10 years, her great grandchildren Kaylan, Victoria, Dakota, Khloe, Emma, Avrie, Tyler, Landen and Lauralynn kept her smiling, laughing and feeling youthful. She would often wish she had only an ounce of their energy.

Annamae left behind a legacy of family history, belonging, love and purpose, generation after generation and is something her family will miss the most. She is missed here on Earth and has left a void in the lives of all that loved her, but her family takes comfort and peace in the homecoming they know she received when she entered eternal life.

The family would like to thank Susan, Nicole, Angela, Kim and Angie as well as the staff at Heritage Manor that assisted with the care of Annamae during her time there.
