IMELDA RUHLMAN

Imelda Ruhlman , a civic activist, died Friday of congestive heart failure at Touro Infirmary. She was 86. Mrs. Ruhlman was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. She was a graduate of Tulane University. She was a volunteer for Lighthouse for the Blind and received the Freedom Foundation at Valley Forge Award for Individual Achievement for her service. She was a member of the St. Charles Avenue Association and received the "hero" award last year from the Preservation Resource Center. She was also president of Pro Christo Laboantes and was a member of Alpha Omicron Phi Women's Fraternity. Survivors include a daughter, Schuyler Louapre; and two grandchildren. A funeral will be held Tuesday at noon at Bultman Funeral Home, 3338 St. Charles Ave. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. [61 Lemon Aloe Orange]
