Lynne Patricia Vega, age 48, passed away in her home after a courageous eight year battle with cancer, on Sunday, November 16, 2008. Loving mother of Jenna Angelle Vega. She is the beloved daughter of Marie Hagen Vega and the late Erwin Jose Vega. Preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Ann Vega, nephew, Blake James Carver and niece Kiersten Victoria Vega. Sister of Gary J. Vega, Rick H. Vega, Cathy M. Vega, Glen A. Vega, Denis E. Vega and Cindy V. Racine. Sister-in-law to Jeannine W. Vega, Victoria P. Vega, Marie R. Racine, Annabelle C. Vega and Dana R. Vega. Cherished aunt of Melanie Cassidy, Brian and Kevin Vega; Brett Carver; Christian, Lauren, Joan, and Alexandra Vega; Breanna St.Cyr; Bryce and Ian Racine; Christopher and Julia Vega; Ethan and Isabella Vega. Great aunt of Aleah Perry, Tyler and Ava Carver; and Keller and Claire Cassidy. Lynne was a caring nurse and spent most of her career at Ochsner Hospital.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend funeral services on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 6425. W. Metairie Ave., Metairie, LA. Visitation will take place from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Joseph Hospice and Palliative Care, 824 Elmwood Park Blvd. Suite 155, New Orleans, LA 70123 preferred.
