BOURGEOIS, CATHERINE 'NELL' STIEFFEL
Catherine "Nell" Stieffel Bourgeois, a retired administrative assistant in the marine division of Lykes Brothers Steamship, died Friday of injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Interstate 10 in Slidell. She was 63. Mrs. Bourgeois was born in New Orleans and lived in Kenner for the past 35 years. She was a graduate of East Jefferson High School and the Kenner Police Department Citizen Police Academy. She was a former employee at Avondale Shipyard. She was a parishioner of St. Lawrence the Martyr Catholic Church and a member of the Metairie Art Guild, T.O.P.S., Monday Night Card Group and Lykes Quarter Century Club. Survivors include her husband, Edward Bourgeois; a son, Arthur Bourgeois; three brothers, Emile "E.L.," Robert and Thomas Stieffel; and five sisters, Anna Mae Silbernagel, Ann Bateman, Ida Stieffel Miller, Aggie Stieffel Anderson and Myra Stieffel. A Mass will be said today at 11 a.m. at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Fayard Family Cemetery in Waveland, Miss.

Stieffel, Ann Bateman, Robert Stieffel, Ida Stieffel Miller, Thomas Stieffel, Aggie Stieffel Anderson, Myra Stieffel, the late Kenneth Stieffel, Jane Stieffel Olivier and James Stieffel. Daughter of the late Alton James Stieffel and Margaret Louise Zitzmann Stieffel. Mrs. Bourgeois was a graduate of East Jefferson High School, a November 2002 graduate of the Kenner Police Department Citizen Police Academy, was retired from Lykes-Bros Steamship where she worked for 27 years as an administrative assistant in the marine division, was formerly employed by Northop Grumman Avondale Shipyard, was a parishioner of St. Lawrence the Martyr Church and was a member of the Metairie Art Guild, T.O.P.S., the Monday Night Card Group and Lykes Quarter Century Club. Age 63 years. A native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Kenner, LA for 35 years.

The relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass from Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home Chapel, 4747 Veterans Blvd., near Clearview, on Monday morning, December 9, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Fayard Family Cemetery, Waveland, MS. Visitation will be on Sunday, December 8, 2002 from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
