Retired owner and operator of the Island Queen Lounge and a resident of Ventress, he died at 11:15 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001, at Pointe Coupee Nursing Facility, NewRoads. He was 90 and a native of Jarreau. Visiting at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lakeland, from 9
a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Pat Rice. Interment in Chenal Cemetery.
Survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and James Aguillard of Ventress; a son and
daughter in law, Daryl and Julie Olinde of Natchez, Miss; two sisters, Winnie Aguillard of Jarreau and Edith Durnin of Baton Rouge, two brothers, Frank Olinde and George T. Olinde, both of Baton Rouge; six grandchildren, Todd Aguillard, Jamie Aguillard, Michelle Sturdivant, Brad OIinde, Brian Olinde and Tiffany Clark; and five great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his father, Vilior Olinde; mother; Josephine Bueche Olinde; his wife of 63 years, Mercedes Guidroz Olinde; three brothers, Numa Olinde, Noah Olinde and Jessee Olinde; and four sisters, Lillian Bergeron, Mathilde Gremilion, Ida LaCoste and Mabel Alford.
