SILBERNAGEL Charles Louis Silbernagel, Jr. passed from death to eternal life on July 17th, 2013. He was affectionately known as Charlie, serving the Lord and his country as a beacon of guidance and devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Friend. Charlie shared his life with his wife Dorothy Cardarella Silbernagel for 56 romantic years. Charlie enjoyed loving, caring, and sharing his life with his children, Charles Silbernagel, III (Colette), Jeffrey Silbernagel (Diana), Eric Silbernagel (Hope), Rhonda Silbernagel Martin (Ronald); Charlie's grandchildren Heather Silbernagel Somers (Sean), Matthew Nolan Silbernagel, and Reese Aubrey Anne Martin; Charlie's step grandchildren Brandon Anderson (Bridget) and Caitlin Verret; Charlie's step great grandchildren, Porter and Leighton Anderson. Charlie is the son of the deceased Charles and Louise Silbernagel.
Charlie retired from South Central Bell after 39 years of service. He served our Lord and Country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and Chaplain of the American Legion Post 137. Charlie was an usher for St. Louis King of France in Bucktown. Although he was active in many civic and social organizations, he would like to acknowledge his Friday morning coffee group and his monthly church breakfast gathering. Dorothy will miss him greatly, and wait for her time to be reunited with him in Christ. All my love follows him to eternity.
