LAWRENCEBURG, Ind. \emdash Creighton "Nick" Smashey, 86, died Saturday at Veterans Nursing Home in Ft. Thomas, Ky. Services were today at the Fitch-Denney Funeral Home.
He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Watson Brown and June Smashey, both of Lawrenceburg; two sons, Harold of Olney, Ill., and Henry of Lawrenceburg; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Creighton D. Smashey and Miss Gertrude Lowe surprised their relatives and friends last week by announcing their marriage, which took place at Norwood, Ohio, last December.
The groom is the youngest son of Mrs. Edward S. Smashey and is employed as a trainsman on the B. & 0. railroad. The bride is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bailey H. Lowe and has been employed as bookkeeper in the office of the Peoples Coal Co.
The young couple are receiving belated congratulations from the many friends of both families.
