An attack of cramps proved fatal to Andrew Silvernagle, 18, when he was swimming in the river off St. Ferdinand street Friday afternoon. He was some distance from the shore when spectators on the bank heard him give a cry and saw him sink. His body did not reappear. He lived on St. Ferdinand street near Villere.

YOUTH DIVES INTO RIVER AFTER MEAL AND IS DROWNED
Shortly after eating at his home, Andrew P. Silbernagle, 18 years old, 1323 St Ferdinand street, dived from a beam into the river at the head of Montegut street Friday after noon. He was seen to come to the surface and then sink again. Several companions who were nearby did not realize what was happening until Silbernagle went down a second time and never came to the surface again.
Up to a late hour Saturday the young man's body had not been recovered. Young Silbernagle was well known in fistic circles, having participated in a number of preliminary boxing contests. He left home after finishing lunch at 12:15 o'clock shortly before 3 o'clock he was drowned. He is survived by his parents, three sisters and a brother.

SILBERNAGEL -- On Friday, August 4, 1922, at 2 o'clock p. m., PETER ANDREW SILBERNAGEL, beloved son of Joseph Silbernagel and Cathearn Jocquin, aged 18 years, a native of New Orleans, La.
The relatives and friends and acquaintances of the family are respectfully invited to attend the funeral, which takes place Sunday, August 6, 1922, at 3 o'clock p. m., from the residence of the deceased, No. 1325 St. Ferdinand street, between Urquhart and Villere streets.
Interment in St. Vincent De Paul Cemetery.

The body of Andrew P. Silbernagel, 18-year-old son of Joseph Silbernagel, 1323 St. Ferdinand street, who was drowned in the river Thursday afternoon was found near Port street last night.
The body was turned over to E. J. Ranson, undertaker, and prepared for burial at 3 o'clock today from his former residence. The deceased was prominent locally as a preliminary fighter. The drowning occurred at the foot of Montegut street.

The body of 18-year old Andrew Silvernagle, who was drowned Friday in the Mississippi river at the head of Monteguet street, was found Sunday by George Humel, a fisherman of 422 Spain street, and has been turned over to the boy's parents, who live at 1325 St. Ferdinand street.
Silvernagle was an amateur prize fighter, and had often appeared in preliminaries to boxing bouts here. He lost his life while in swimming.
The body was found floating in the river near Clouet street.
