Rebecca Short Silbernagel, age 84, of New Orleans, Louisiana, died Sunday, January 1, 2006 in Frisco, TX following an extended illness. Mrs. Silbernagel was a native and lifelong resident of New Orleans, Chalmette, Slidell, LA and recently of Frisco, TX, the daughter of the late James and Annette P. Short, stepdaughter of the late Margaret Short, loving wife of the late Christian M. Silbernagel, Sr. Mrs. Silbernagel is survived by her two children, Carolyn S. Wilkerson and Christian M. Silbernagel, Jr.; son-in-law, Robert L. Wilkerson, Sr., and daughter-in-law, Gail S. Silbernagel; brother, Robert Doll, and sister, Annette Rein; three grandchildren, Robert L. Wilkerson, Jr., Constance Silbernagel, and Christian M. Silbernagel, III; eleven nieces and nephews, many cousins and loving friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services. Visitation will begin on Thursday, January 12, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. with Mass in the chapel at noon. The private burial will take place at a later time with interment in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens in Chalmette, LA. In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to honor her memory may have Masses offered in her name.
Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements, which will be held at LAMANA-PANNO-FALLO Funeral Home at 1717 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, LA.

This is to certify, that by virtue of a License issued by the Clerk of the 26th JUDICIAL COURT, of the State of Louisiana, in and for the Parish of St. Bernard, Mr. Chris Silbernagel, a native of Louisiana, and Miss Rebecca Short, a native of Louisiana, were, with their mutual consent, by me joined in the Bonds of Matrimony on the 20th day of July 1940. in the Parish of St. Bernard, in the presence of Jules S.
