Daisy Sanchez Pitre
A homemaker and a longtime resident of Plaquemine, she passed away Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2009, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 91 and a native of White Castle. Visiting at Wilbert Funeral Home, Plaquemine, on Friday, Aug. 7, from noon until Rite of Christian Burial at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Cleo Milano. Entombment in Grace Memorial Park Mausoleum, Plaquemine. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Patricia Pitre Melsheimer and husband Stephen, and Linda Pitre Passantino; three sisters, Gertrude Mellor, Mabel Sanchez and Gracie Baugnon; a brother, Joseph Sanchez; six grandchildren, Gretchen Hammond, Wendi Williams, Kirsten Schuster, Brian Passantino, Patrick Passantino and Carl Passantino; and 11 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Preston "Pat" Pitre; parents, Manuel and Leuticia Gomez Sanchez; son-in-law, Ted Passantino; sister, Beatrice Pilgrim; and brothers, Golden and Benny Sanchez.
