RUPPERT, ELWOOD V.
Elwood V. Ruppert, a retired employee for the former New Orleans Public Service Inc., now Entergy Corp., died Thursday at Doctors Hospital. He was 77. Mr. Ruppert was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie for the past 27 years. He was a ship fitter third class in the Navy during World War II. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6640 and AARP Chapter 3902. Survivors include three daughters, Cynthia R. Orkus, Gail R. Silbernagel and Janet R. Nagle; a sister, Julianna Barone; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A Mass will be said Monday at noon at All Faiths Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Garden of Memories.

Son of the late Mary Rothschmitt and Christian P. Ruppert. Brother of Julianna C. Barone and the late Christian Ruppert. Grandfather of Sharon and Philip Hoffman, Drew and Kate Silbernagel, Taylor and Kyle Nagle, Jeff Orkus, Pam Skeath and the late Tyler Nagle. Also survived by 3 great-grandchildren.

Relatives, friends, officers and members of N.O.P.S.I. (Gas Dept) and the V.F.V. Post #6640 are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at ALL FAITHS FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 5200 Canal Blvd. (adjacent to Greenwood) on Monday, May 12, 2003 at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories. Visitation on Monday from 10:00 AM until service time.
