Nancy Ann McGary (1917 - 2012) Obituary
Nancy Ann Roudebush, of Harrison, OH, dear wife of the late Harry E. "Mac" McGary, died in her 95th year in the house in which she was born. A graduate of Harrison High School, class of 1935, and the Cincinnati School of Business, she spent many years in the office at Fernald and later was secretary of the Anthropology Department at Miami University, Oxford, until her retirement. She was a long-term member and supporter of the Village Historical Society. A lover of music, she was a faithful supporter of the Friday Morning Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra concerts for over 35 years and played the piano daily. She also enjoyed traveling, horseback riding, and entertaining in her lovely historic family home, Sand Hill, which she spent most of her life preserving. Her success with cultivating plants led to the surrounding of Sand Hill, with beautiful trees and flowers.
She is survived by nieces Frances (James) Allen and Betty Jane (Patrick) Hays and nephew Clarence C. (Peggy) Roudebush III; cousins, Jean Grunninger, Marjorie Armstrong, and Hammond H. Roudebush; great nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents, Clarence. C. and Harriet J. (Hopping) Roudebush; stepmother, Mary K. (Kolb) Roudebush; and brothers, Clarence C. Roudebush, Jr. and Frank A. (Miriam) Roudebush.
