Bonnie Fay Chaney Weds Glenn L. Richardson; To Live in Norfolk, Va.
Miss Bonnie Fay Chaney. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hilton Ray Chaney of Hill Drive. became the bride of Lt. (jg) Glenn Llewellyn Richardson. son of Mr. and Mrs. Llewellyn Richardson of Jefferson Highway. on Saturday evening at 7:30 o'clock at the Parkview Baptist Church. The double-ring ceremony took place before a tall white wrought iron arch entwined with Southern Smilax and white
flowers and was read by the Rev. C. Roger Johnson. After a reception at the church social room, the couple left for Norfolk. Va.. where the bridegroom is stationed With the Navy, and will go later to Bermuda.
Wedding music was by Miss Patricia Needham, organist, and Mr. Wayne Saxon, soloist. Their
numbers included "Entreet Me Not to Leave Thee," "Through the Years," and "The Lord's Prayer."
The church was further decorated with tall white cathedral columns holding urns of white ruffled gladloli and asters, and by groupings of palms. White candles were lighted in seven-branched wrought iron candelabra, and the family pews were marked with white flowers, smilax, and large white satin bows.
Scrolls of Lace
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white silk organza over taffeta, the
dress fashioned with long torso bodice, scooped neckline and brief sleeves. The bodice was accented by lace studded with clusters of tiny seed pearls. A lace motif appeared also on each sleeve, and the bouffant skirt had scrolls of the lace. The skirt was finished in bustle effect and the choral train was marked by lace motifs.
Her fingertip veil of imported illusion was arranged from a capulet of hand-rolled fabric roses. She wore pearls and carried a small bouquet of white butterfly roses, stephanotis and a large white yellow-throated orchid with small pearl loops cascading from a small white Bible.
The bride's sister, Mrs. W. Ronald Smith of New Orleans, served as matron of honor and the bridesmaids were: Miss Gae Gautreau of Gonzales, Mrs. Joe Evans Estes of Lake Charles and Mrs. Jessie Pugh of Baton Rouge, both sisters of the bridegroom, and Mrs. Jerry McElveen. Rosemary Richardson. the bridegroom's cousin, was flower girl.
Apple Green
The attendants wore apple green silk organza over taffeta frocks made with boat necklines and butterfly sleeves. The full skirts were accented with criss-crossed cummerbunds forming bows at the back. They wore matching green taffeta beadpieces and carried crescent shaped bouquets of yellow marguerite daisies with small garlands of polished English ivy.
The flower girl. similarly attired, carried a basket of marguerite daisies.
Mr. Jessie Pugh served as best man and the bridegroom's other attendants were Messrs. Kelly
Harris Jr.. and Pat Olivier of Baton Rouge, Murphy Richardson of Hammond and Fanancy Anzalone of Independence.
Mrs. Chaney, mother of the bride, were a blue chantilly lace dress with peau de soie cummerbund and matching accessories. The bridegroom's mother wore a pink silk 5 sheath with pleated cummerbund and white accessories. Both had orchid corsages.
Those Serving
Mrs. Bailey D. Hughes of Hammond poured punch while Mrs. Felice B. Lane of Pineville served the wedding cake. Presiding at the guest register was Mrs. Enas F. Bailey Jr. of Hammond.
Tea girls were Misses Ann Marie Smith, Debra Smith of Hammond and Linda Smith. All members of the house party had corsages of white muriel daisies.
The bride. a graduate of Hammond High School and of Louisiana College at Pineville has for the past year been a member of the faculty at Rosteet Elementary School in Lake Charles. She is a member of Kappa Delta Pi. honorary education sorority.
Following two years at Louisiana State University the bridegroom entered flight training and received his wings and commission at the New Iberia Naval Training School. He has since been stationed at Quonset Point, R.I., and in Norfolk, where the couple will reside.
