Miss Guard And Capt. Price Wed Saturday In Lebanon
In a wedding of quiet smartness in detail Miss Persha Guard and Capt. Paul J. Price, son of Mrs. Elijah Price of Edison av., this city, were married Saturday afternoon in Lebanon at the home of the brides parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles
L. Guard.
The ceremony was performed at half after 4 o'clock by the Rev. Harvey Hahn of Otterbein U. B. church of Dayton in the presence of the immediate families and a few close friends. The bridal music was played by Mrs. C. E. McCoy of Lafayette. Ind., cousin of the bride.
Palms and huckleberry foliage banked the fireplace in the living room and on the mantel clusters of gardenias contrasted their whiteness with trailing ivy.
Cathedral tapers in candelabra added their bridal note to the setting.
The bride descended the stairs with her father, who gave her in marriage. She wore the bridal gown which was worn by her sister, Mrs. David Tapley in her wedding. It was of ivory satin, made with tight bodice with self button trim, a high neckline, created with a half collar caught with a tiny cluster of orange
blossoms on each side. The sleeves were long and pointed over the hands and the skirt was wide, and developed into a long train. A seed pearl tiara, from
which fell a finger tip veil of tulle, completed her bridal ensemble with which she carried a circular bouquet of stephanotis and miniature gardenias with an white orchid corsage center.
Preceding the bride to the altar was her maid of honor, her sister, Miss Alice Guard. She wore an aqua chiffon frock with a sweetheart neckline, puffed sleeves and a long full skirt. She carried summer flowers in pastel shades and wore similar blooms on a blue velvet bandeau on her hair.
Capt. Price was attended by Jesse R. Winder of Dayton as best man.
Mrs. Guard, the bride's mother, chose for the wedding and the informal reception which followed a navy blue lace gown and a corsage of orchids and
Mrs. Price, the bridegroom's mother, was in a gown of navy and also wore orchids.
The buffet table was adorned with a crystal bowl filled with white blooms.
Capt. and Mrs. Price left for a short wedding trip and will establish their home here in Patterson Village.
Mrs. Price is a graduate of Christ Hospital School of Nursing in Cincinnati and was on the nursing staff of the Dayton Osteopathic hospital. Capt. Price is the captain commanding the traffic section of the Dayton Police department.
