Died 2 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, 1995, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 66, a native and resident of Baton Rouge. He was a retired South Central Bell employee with 37 years of service and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean Conflict. Visiting was held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., 5 to 10 p.m. Thursday. Visiting at the funeral home chapel, 8 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. Friday, conducted by the Rev. Bruce C. Wade. Interment in Grace Memorial Park, Plaquemine. Survived by wife, Muriel P. Rhed; two sons and a daughter-in-law, David W. Rhed and Karen Rhed, James C. Rhed Jr.; two grandchildren, Brian Rhed and Kevin Rhed; and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, Zibe and Ruby Rhed. Pallbearers will be Preston Pitre, Cyril Pitre, Freddie Pitre, William Pitre, Harold Pitre, Arthur Pitre, Curtis Pitre and Cyril LeJune. He was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America. Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 4848 North Blvd., Baton Rouge, 70806.
