Society Pershall-Danna Nuptial Rites Will Be Held Jan. 24
THE ENGAGEMENT of Miss Karen Devereux Danna to Mr. Desmond Francis Perschall, son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis George Perschall, is announced this Thursday by her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Pascal Lawrence Danna. The wedding will be celebrated Jan. 24 at an evening ceremony in the Eighth st. family home of the bride-elect.
Miss Danna, whose mother is the former Miss Kathryn Devereux. was a debutante of the 1962'9763 season and was formally introduced at the ball of Le Debut des Jeunes Filles de la Nouvelle Orleans. As a sub-deb the bride-elect was a court maid in the Harlequins ball.
She was graduated from the Louise S. McGehee School and attended Louisiana State University and the Newcomb College Art School. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Joseph R. Danna, the late Mr. Danna
and the late Mr. and Mrs Joseph Thomas Devereux.
Mr. Perschall attended LSU and is now a student in the School of Architecture of Tulane University. His mother, the former Miss Bonnie Jean Kinerd, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Kinero of New Orleans, formerly of Meridian, Miss. Mr. Perschall is a grandson on his paternal side of Mr. Francis C. Perschall and the late Mrs. Perschall.

Claiming attention this week is the marriage Monday of Miss Karen Devereux Danna, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Pascal Lawrence Danna, to Mr. Desmond Francis Perschall, son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis George Perschall. The 7:30 o'clock evening ceremony will be performed in the presence of only the immediate families at the Danna home on Eighth st. Following, at 8 o'clock, Dr. and Mrs. Danna will be hosts at a small
reception at which they will also entertain a few additional guests.
The bride's honor attendants, will be Mrs. Edward H. Stolley and Miss Sarah Beirne Miles. The ribbon bearers will be Mrs. Walter S. McCloskey, Mrs. David S. Wisdom, Mrs. W. Mark Dean, Mrs. Conrad Wall III,
Mrs. Tamara Smith Dezell, Misses Anna May Maylie, Diana Rowley, Sandra Jean Perschall, sister of the prospective bridegroom, and Rosemary and Cynthia Korndorffer, cousins of the bride-elect.
Mr. Don Marshall Perschall, brother of the bridegroom-elect, will serve as best man, and the groomsman will be the prospective bride's brother, Mr. Devereux L. Danna.

Following the young couple's wedding rehearsal Sunday evening, Mrs. Joseph Ralph Danna, grandmother of the bride, entertained at dinner at the Metairie Country Club. Golden and white flowers adorned the tables at which the guests were seated.

Desmond Francis Perschall, 74, died Wednesday October 19th at Ochsner Baptist Hospital after a brief illness.
He is survived by his beloved and loving family, his wife of 50 years Karen Danna Perschall, his sons Beau and Adam Perschall, his daughter Amanda Mundee and his inlaw family, Kathleen, Caroline and Ian. He is also survived by his six wonderful grandchildren, Clayton, Madeline, Isabelle, Aidan, Amelie and Skylar and his brother Don Perschall as well as loving friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis (Frank) and Bonnie Jean Perschall and his sister Sandra McClendon.
A lifelong resident of New Orleans he graduated from the New Orleans Academy and received his undergraduate and Masters degree in Architecture from Tulane University. As a partner in Pelias, Thieneman, Perschall, Architects as well as later in his own firm, Perschall and Associates Architects he was among the early developers of condominiums in the New Orleans area. The first condominium conversion in the city of The Octavia Apartments was a project of Pelias, Thieneman, Perschall and Mr. Perschall developed the first fee simple town house condominiums on Prytania Street. He owned Coliseum Construction Company and in 1981 he established Acadian Millwork and Supply Company and was the principal partner and President. He was instrumental in creating the Louisiana Furniture Association and was the first head of that group. In 2003 he began Perschall Design with his son.
He loved being with his family and friends, traveling and fishing. Family and friends are invited to a visitation Friday, October 28th at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home in New Orleans between 10am and noon.
