George E. Prendergast, 49-year-old vice-president and secretary of the Economy Iron Works, died at 1:30 p. m. Monday while at work in his office at 639 South Peters street.
Mr. Prendergast, a native of New Orleans, resided at 205 South Cortez street. He is survived by his father, John J. Prendergast, Sr.; the widow, the former Agnes Barr of New Orleans; one son, John Prendergast; three daughters, Margaret and Catherine Prendergast and Mrs. Charles P. George of Brunswick, Ga.; five sisters, Catherine, Margaret and Anna Prendergast, Mrs. A. R. French, Jr., and Mrs. T. J. Casey of Council Bluffs, Ia., and two brothers, Harry and John J. Prendergast, Jr.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p. m. today from P. J. McMahon and Sons Funeral Home, Inc., 4800 Canal street, with interment in St. Patrick cemetery No. 1.

PRENDERAST -- On Monday afternoon, October 20, 1941, at 1:30 o'clock GEORGE E. PRENDERGAST, of 205 S. Cortez street, husband of Agnes Barr, father of Margaret, Catherine, John L. Prendergast and Mrs. Charles George, brother of John J., Jr., Harry Katie, Anna, Margaret, Mrs. T. J. Casey and Mrs. A. R. French, grandfather of Bobby George.
Relatives, friends, members and employes of Economy Iron Works and officers and members of Tulane Camp No. 48, W. O. W., are invited to attend the funeral from the P. J. McMahon and Sons Funeral Home, 4800 Canal street, near cemeteries, at 4 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, October 21, 1941, followed by services at Sacred Heart church.
Interment in St. Patrick cemetery No. 1.
