Gerald J. Plonsky ,a store manager, died Saturday of cancer at Chateau Living Center. He was 83. Mr. Plonsky was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. He attended Washington High School and Soule Business School. He was employed by Zoler Men's Wear. He was a member of Metairie Lodge No. 444 F&AM and the Congregation Gates of Prayer. Survivors include a daughter, Lynne Plonsky Dimm; two sisters, Doris P. Harris and Annie Wise P. Davis; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. A graveside service will be held today at 10 a.m. at Gates of Prayer Cemetery, 1412 Joseph St., New Orleans.
