G. V. Pile, 66, Passes Away
Former Casper Police Chief
G. V. Pile, 66, well known Casper man, truant officer and custodian of the Natrona County high school,
and one-time police chief, died Monday night at the Memorial hospital after a short illness.
Since 1929 Mr. Pile had been custodian and truant officer. Prior to that time he was a member of the city police force and in 1927 and 1928 was police chief. He came to Casper in 1920 and immediately was
employed by the police force. :
During his years in the various peace offices he has made a host of friends and business acquaintances.
He was born in Mount Herman, Ky., in 1877 and resided there for many years. He then moved to Missouri and finally came to Casper where he had resided ever since.
He is survived by his wife, Lula M. Pile; three daughters. Mrs. E. J. Parsley, Cheyenne: Mrs. Jack Fowler, Rapid City, S. D.: and Miss Wineva Pile, Casper: two sons. Glen V. of Evanston and Kenneth. who is serving in the Pacific with the United States marine corps: a brother. L. T. Pile of Los Angeles; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Gay chapel at 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon with the Rev. H. Allison McHenry of the First Baptist church, officiating. Interment will be in Highland cemetery. Mr. Pile of Los Angeles will be unable to attend the services because of illness.
