Iris Perschall Marquez passed away at East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie, LA on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 6 pm. Beloved wife of the late George V. Marquez for 52 years. Loving mother of Michael W. Marquez (Helene Canovski). Mother-in-law of the late Darlene F. Marquez. Proud grandmother of Justin and Jeanne Marquez and great-grandmother of Brandon Michael, George Cole, and Faith Elise Marquez. She is also survived by her companion of 14 years, Herbert Arnold. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank X. and Caroline Silbernagel Perschall, and her siblings, Clem, Frank, Leslie, Louis and Althea.
Iris was employed by several agencies of the Federal government during her nearly 30 year career: The Maritime Administration, Customs, and Drug Enforcement. At Drug Enforcement, she was Personnel Director of the Southern region. A native of New Orleans, LA , a graduate of the Academy of Holy Angels, and a resident of Harahan, LA for 35 years.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie, LA on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until service time. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
