MRS. DAVID HAYS IS LAID TO REST
The funeral of Mrs. David Hays of 524 S. street was held at the chapel of Stephens and Bean yesterday afternoon, and was in charge of Rev. Chas. Laurant Beal and Rev. H. O. Breeden.
Mrs. Hays was one of the pioneers of this county having settled here with her husband thirty years ago on a ranch where she lived until moving to Fresno eight years ago. Her maiden name was Mary A. Olney, and she was born at Mineral Point, Wisconsin on December 7, 1844. She grew to womanhood and was married in the old family residence on April 4, 1866, to David J. Hays. To this union was born Paul, Ruth, Judd, Fred L., Nathan and Edith. Of this number Ruth and Judd have preceded the mother to the grave.
Mrs. Hays and her husband moved to Iowa in an early day and were pioneers in settling that great state. After fifteen years spent there they came to Fresno county and have since resided here. The deceased had been a member of the Church of Christ for fifteen years, and was known as a splendid character.
