Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Miller of Evansville announce the birth of a son on Nov. 6 at; the Deaconess
hospital. The baby, who has been named Raymond, has one brother, Jon Kenneth, and one sister, Terese
Marie. Mrs. Miller is the former Marguerite Jasnowski of Hammond.

Raymond F. MIller is the 36 year old white male head of household, born in Indiana, as was his whole family. He works in his own business as a funeral director in a funeral home. His wife is 33 year old Marguerite MIller who works in her own business as embalmer in a funeral home. They have 4 children: 9 year old son, John R. MIller; 7 year old daughter, Theresa Miller; 5 year old son, Raymond A. Miller; and a son born in Sept. 1949, Bernard F. Miller. Additional information on Theresa Miller - her parents were born in the U. S., she has finished 1st grade.

Raymond Albert Miller, 62 ,of Evansville, died on Wednesday, Jan. 17 at 2:30 p.m. of lymphoma at his home with his loving family by his side. Raymond was born on Nov. 6, 1944, the third child of Raymond F. and Marguerite (Jasnowski) Miller. He attended St Joseph Catholic Elementary school and graduated from Rex Mundi High School in 1963.
He attended the Indiana College of Mortuary Science in Indianapolis and worked for H.G. Hermann Funeral Home.

In 1966, Raymond was drafted and served two years in Vietnam, stationed in Saigon with graves registration. He was discharged in 1968 with the rank of SPC-4. After an honorable discharge from his tour of duty, he returned home to work in the family business, Miller and Miller Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, for more than 30 years.

After the passing of his parents, Ray and his brothers sold the business in 1997 and went into retirement, but held ownership to the building and properties to this day. Ray owned and operated Sunset Funeral Home in Carmi, Ill., in the early 1990s and he started Sunset Limousine Service that ran from 1988 to 2005. He loved to travel and took many trips by cruise ship.

He loved to design and build water fountains and donated one of his works to the Bible Center Church.

Ray was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Francis Miller, on Sept. 4, 1985, and his mother, Marguerite (Jasnowski) Miller, on Aug. 23, 1996, and his brother, Jon K. Miller on July 10, 2003, and grandparents, Albert and Elizabeth Miller and Jon and Anna Jasnowski.

He is survived by his loving sister and caregiver, Theresa Miller Kuzel (Richard), of Mokena, Ill.; his loving brother and caregiver, Bernard F. Miller (Trudie); his brother and caregiver, Gerald E. Miller (Linda); sister-in-law, Norma Miller, all of Evansville; two nieces, Amy Kuzel Hester (Tony), of Niagara Falls, N.Y., and Angela Miller Mobley, of Evansville; six nephews, Danny Kuzel (Alina), of Fredericksburg, Va., David Kuzel, of Mokena, Ill., Kenneth "Kenny" Miller (Michele), Scott Miller, Chad E. Miller (Stacy) and Gerald Miller Jr., all of Evansville; his best friend and longtime companion (Chubby) his Chinese Pug and his friend and travel buddy, second cousin, Patrick Mulherin.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the VA Hospital in Marion, Ill.

The Visiting Nurse Association with a special thanks to Mary Topper for her compassion and kindness during his final days.

To Father Ed Bradley for the wonderful eulogy and the Holy Name Catholic Church in Henderson, Ky., where he attended. To his second cousin, Janelle Mulherin, for the beautiful songs she sang. To Stacia Osborne Christian, of Osborne Funeral Home, for the beautiful work she did on Ray and the loving kindness and compassion she and her family bestowed on the Miller Family in their time of need.

Ray's final journey ended at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, with full military rites. He was laid to rest on Friday, Jan. 19, 2007. Ray will be deeply by his family and many many friends.
