Gill, Mabel Bazile
Ms. Mabel, age 95 and resident of Albany, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2009, at Belle Maison
Nursing Home. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Although her family was most important to her, she enjoyed crocheting, sewing, knitting and making crafts. Ms. Mabel leaves behind a daughter, Jerry Ann Gill McGee and husband Albert, of Zachary and two sons, Johnny Gill and wife Joyce, of Albany, and Norman Gill Jr. and wife Betty, of Hammond. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Kathy Gill Martens, Stan, Roger, Darren and Gary Gill, Kristi Gill Meyers, Billy, Ricky and Phillip "Peanut" Pace, Toni McGee Causey and Mike McGee; 14 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Preceding Ms. Mabel in death were her husband, Norman Eugene Gill Sr.; daughter, Audrey Faye Gill Pace; son, Roy Olan Gill; parents, Santo Bazile and Mary Meline St. Cyr Bazile; four brothers, Joe. Tony and Freddie Bazile and infant brother, Vincent; and five sisters, Mary, Louise and Josephine Richardson, Hazel Rushing and Elizabeth St. Cyr.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, west of Hammond, on Tuesday, July 7, at 10 a.m. The family requests that visiting hours he observed at the funeral home on Monday, July 5, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until the funeral service time. The Rev. Joe Dunn will officiate the services. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the Rev. Joe Dunn and the Rev. Mike Burns along with the members of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Belle Maison Nursing Home, Generations Hospice and her roommate, Doris Allen. for their care and compassion.
